IlmSaathi

Privacy Policy

Effective 18 October 2026

IlmSaathi ("we", "us") is an Islamic learning and community app for Android and its website ilmsaathi.in. This policy explains what information we collect, why, who we share it with, and the choices you have. We collect only what we need to run the app, and we never sell your personal information.

1. Information we collect

Information you give us

Information collected automatically

2. How we use information

3. Who we share information with

We share information only with service providers who help us run IlmSaathi, under agreements that limit their use of it, and only as much as each needs:

ProviderPurpose
Google FirebasePush notifications, crash reports, analytics, Google sign-in
Google PlayIn-app purchases of coins
RazorpayCard, UPI and netbanking payments, donations, and payouts to muftis and sellers
OpenAIAutomatic checking of community text and images for harmful content
Email provider (Google)Sending password-reset codes
Our hosting providerServers and file storage for the app

Things you post in the community, your public profile, answers in Ask a Mufti and what you say in a live room are visible to other users. Family group content is visible only to members of that group. We may disclose information if required by law, to protect the safety of our users, or as part of a merger or sale of the service (with this policy continuing to apply). We do not sell personal information and we do not show ads.

4. Children

Children under 13 should use IlmSaathi only through a kids profile created and managed by a parent or guardian. Kids profiles cannot use the community, chats, Ask a Mufti or payments without the parent; leaving kids mode requires the parent PIN, and parents can set daily time limits and choose which sections are open. We collect only what is needed for the child's learning progress. A parent can delete a kids profile at any time from parental controls, which deletes the child's progress.

5. Storage, security and retention

Information is stored on secure servers. Connections use HTTPS, passwords and PINs are hashed, and bank and PAN details are encrypted. No method is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and limit who on our team can access it.

We keep your information while your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete your profiles and personal details and sign you out of all devices. We keep anonymised payment and accounting records where the law requires, and posts you made in shared spaces may remain without your name.

6. Your choices and rights

You also have the rights given to you by the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and other applicable law, including the right to withdraw consent and to nominate someone to act for you.

7. Changes

We may update this policy. If the changes are important, we will tell you in the app before they take effect. The date at the top shows when it was last updated.
